Owl Flats builds structures to keep you and your family outside all year. We’ll also build for your animals. We design and build pergolas, arbors, rain shelters, elevated walkways, bird blinds, viewing platforms, trail bridges, feeding sheds, play structures for kids, places to hang out and more. If you have the land and the desire, we’ll help you build it!
Dave Shapiro is the RMI (responsible managing individual) for carpentry and design projects. He’ll assemble the team needed for projects large or small.

Juniper Yard Shelter
Built from restoration Juniper and Diamond Pier Foundation system. Dave will be using this shed as a woodshed but the design and concept can be used for multiple uses. In town, this could be worked into a Rain Shade for hanging outside all year round. In the country this could be a feeding shelter for horses or goats.
View of the Diamond Pier footings on Dave’s Footbridge. These unique prefab footings can be placed in sensitive habitats and provide a foundation with minimum disturbance. Built of restoration Juniper, this structure needed no stain or treatment. Juniper is naturally rot resistant.
Special Needs Mounting Block built for R & R New Options Equine in Sandy, Oregon. Built out of a mix of new and old lumber that was treated with Thompson’s Water Seal for years of water shedding.
The Gravel Box is a made from sanded Juniper 6x6s lag screwed together with landscape cloth stapled to bottom and then filled in with a yard of Columbia River pea gravel. Juniper 4x4 uprights are fitted with eyelets and rope clips for adjustment to the path of the sun. Triangle shade sail can be traded out for rectangle.
Simple benches can add a lot to a landscape. This forest bench is made from western red cedar and creates a sanctuary feel to the Owl Flats Forest.
